Fat Pets – The Pet obesity epidemic

More and more I am seeing dogs and cats with weight issues. It seems that our k9 friends are continuing to adopt our habits, this time in the form of over indulgence. With all the treats and human food that end up in the dog bowl our fury friends are beginning to get fatter. In fact this has become such a problem that organisations like the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention (APOP) have popped up to exploit this obvious market problem. So why are our pets getting so fat? And what is the prognosis. Will they get fatter? or can we prevent this evolutionary disaster before it turns our pets into spherical eating machines that take up even more room on the couch and are impossible to wash.

I do remember my favorite Jack Russel. His name was Willy Wombat (We laughed too) And he ended up looking like a hovering fury rugby ball (because you couldn’t see his legs). We used to call him rugga. You know, it was all my grandma’s fault, she used to feed him all sorts of bits and bobs, chocolate (Not good for dogs) bits of ham, large chunks of lard, that dog would eat anything! He ended up with heart problems and died of a bum ticker. Cholesterol killed the poor little bugger. He was kind of like Elvis, although Willy Wombat died with a bit more dignity. Could his untimely death have been avoided? If only I could have contacted APOP (Association for Pet Obesity Prevention) it was just too late. An My friend Wombat drifted off to the big buffet in the sky. Where they serve steak all day long! And they play the stones, all day long! (His favorite band) That dog was a legend!

Anyhow (sniff) If you poses a Fat Pet then I urge you to take the bull by the horns and get those loved ones on diet. Hell! get them to run around the park a bit more, they will love you for it. And it will get you out a bit more too. Which is always a good thing.

Its kind of disgusting to think of your beloved moggy ending up a 3 ton bed sore ridden feline permanently embedded on the lazy boy, meowing every 30min for another punch bowl full of turkey livers and couple of pints of milk. Extending a still active and very vicious claw every time anyone tries to move them. Could you imagine the smell! You would have to move the lazy boy into a giant kitty litter box, or get a fork lift every time Mr Buggles wants to go do potty. You might end up needing a full time feeder to keep the colossal kitty satisfied. You could always invest in cat nappies although I couldn’t think of single reason why you would want to put yourself through changing the damn things. Perhaps this is some form of eating disorder that is being transferred from the owner to the pet. Maybe hardcore pet feeders have issues related to their weight and are using their pet as a vehicle to enjoy that food instead of eating it themselves. Kind of like a mother filling her kids full of sweets because their eating routine has never allowed for it. And perhaps seeing other people over eating relieves the sense of self guilt they may be feeling, that came from that extra stick of celery they had for lunch (Just a thought)

Call of Duty World at war review

I’ve been playing COD WAW now for about 10 hours total and I must say it’s quite something. COD 4 Modern Warfare had players infiltrating enemy territory using the latest in modern weaponry, World at war is a little more traditional than the previous title with its ultra realistic world war 2 theme environment. This is the first time I have played a decent war shooter that’s set in te south pacific, which really looks good when you spot a beautiful palm tree while gunning down a pesky Jap. There is also a lot more variation in this version. COD 4 was amazing and had a lot of very cool features, but failed to provide a gaming system that would be worth playing over and over again, once completed multiplayer become’s the only interesting option. COD 5 has so many ways to approach the situation, and this makes re-playabilty, witch is very important to me.

The graphical side is amazing with some of the most realistic effects I’ve ever seen. The smoke looks real the fire look real and the Grass looks amazing while your in aim mode. Theres a great sense of depth and the levels are attractive and interesting as well as being very diverse. Although not quite as difficult as COD 4 the single player campaign is still a worthy challenge. With Banzai Bayonet Japs jumping out of every nook and cranny you have to keep your wits about you.

Call of Duty World at War has few downsides, but it does have some. The version I got is quite Buggy and has crashed on me 3 times (Xbox!!) The first Mission doesnt grab you and pull you in quite as well as the first mission on COD 4 it just seems a little generic. Although every attempt has been made to keep you on the edge of your seat it doesnt quite hold the same atmosphere as COD 4. Istill remember that first level where you hare running to the Chopper to get off a sinking boat. That was cool! The aiming system is a little different but looks way better in aim mode.

On the whole COD world at war is a very good game. Well worth the hefty price tag. With so many games of the same genre available today its difficult to make a WWII game that actually keeps the regular gamer interested and this game gets full makes on that side. I’ve even put Gears of War 2 down for a few hours. Now that is saying a lot.

Longest Time to Maintain a Human Flag Canadian Dominic Lacasse posed like a flag from a polr for 39 seconds. It would’ve been a lot more obvious what he was doing if he had tattooed a giant maple leaf on his stomach.

Well it seems that the world has its own sideways man. The Human flag managed to keep that going for a whopping 39 seconds. Thats a long time when your defying gravity. Well we could trust a Canadian to come up with this.

Well it seems that I wont be going on Holiday after all. I am very, very dissapointed. My dad got a call from the game ranger and he rekons its too dangerous. Below is a photo of the Cederberg on Fire. Not a recent photo but it was taken just a few meters from the house we stay in. So what am going to do with myself? I’m stressed out to the max, I am a workaholic, I need a Holiday! And have done for quite some time. So now my Week in the mountains is gone because some asshole flicked a ciggarette but! Damn him straight to hell!

Which is probably a hell cat sent from Beelzebub himself. cute though. “For just 14 cents a day I can stop this!” Thats crule. Send your money to starvng kids in Africa that have cats attched to their faces. Come on, its a good cause! Quick get him in the pot before the little bugger sinks his razor teath into my sinus gland! Unlucky Fried Kitten! lol

The worst Custom Ride ever!

Check out this beat up old VW Beetle I checked while driving to the shop. This area I live in See’s a lot of arty types and I have seen all sorts of crazy vehicles. But this is just wrong! Its such a heap, I mean seriously it looks like a blind guy painted the wheels with an over sized broomstick. I had a look at the underside and its just a bucket of rust with a bad pait job. It seems like the owner has painted some Afrikaans profanity on the side to top it off. Not exactly a Chip Foose custom now is it!

You can see where the wheel customiser has painted over the tires in an attempt to get that “Low profile” look so people thing that his car has ultra thin tires. Or maybe he was going for the “Yellow wall” tire look? And a blue roof as to camouflage him when submerged in the sea (Im assuming its amphibious. Judging by the rust)

Ok, here we see the ultimate in custom graphics where the custom graphic designer scribbled a great word of South African culture “Je Moeder” Directly translated “Your Mother”. How Charming ! And look, to top it off, you can actually rent it for a day! and show it off to your friends! Get it for your wedding or night out on the town.
